It may take you some considerable time to make sense of the very large and quite diverse range of different betting markets that you are going to be given access to at lots of different betting sites on this year’s running of the Memorial Tournament.
That golf tournament is an interesting one, much more so from a betting point of view, for with the golfers being split up into three groups, as you will discover below you can also back any golfer in each of the groups to head that group after 72 holes have been played.
You can of course back any one golfer to head any group after 72 holes, or you could pick out one golfer from all three groups and perm them all together in an acca bet when betting at sites such as BetFred, who are by the way offering a very fair set of odds on each group right now.
Regarding the chances of all five golfers playing in Group A, the current favourite is R. Mcilroy who is a 23/10 shot to win that group, but he is very closely followed by the vastly experienced T. Woods who is on offer at odds of 3/1 and J. Thomas, J. Rose and R. Fowler can be backed at 4/1.
Will Cantlay Head Group B?
Let me now take a look at the betting opportunities that are currently up for grabs regarding Group B, and much like Group A there are five golfers that have been assigned to that group any of which could of course head it after 72 holes have been played.
It is however the highly talented P. Cantlay that is the golfer that most punters appear to be backing as the golfer that is most likely to head Group B, and if you are of the mind that he will then there is still plenty of time for you to secure the 5/2 odds that most bookies are offering on him.
However, any of the four other golfers in Group B could end up heading that group after they have played off 72 holes, and those other golfers and their respective odds are J. Day a 3/1 shot. M. Kuchar who is on offer at odds of 7/2 and both J. Spieth and X. Schauffele look easy to back currently for their odds are both 4/1.
Group C Betting Market
Finally let me give you some ideas as to just where the supposed smart money is going on the golfers in Group C, for it won’t be very long before we know just which of them is going to head that group, but there is still just enough time for you to place a bet on any of them if you do fancy doing so.
Finau is currently the one golfer that most punters are backing, for his odds have just been shortened down to odds of 14/5 and as such he is the favourite to head Group C.
You may however not fancy his chances and be of the mindset that it will be the likes of H. Matsuyama that will head this group and if so, he can be backed easily today at win odds of 3/1. G. Woodland is certainly in with a chance of heading this group and his odds for reference are 7/2, both A. Scott and B. Dechambeau are also being offered at higher odds of 19/5.
