The clock is now ticking down until the start of the 2019 Tour De France, and there will be loads of people that are going to be having a last minute bet on the outright winner betting markets, and there are two riders that are being backed quite heavily right now.
The first one is of course Bernal and given his current form and the volume of wagers that have been placed on him to date on the futures betting markets his odds are around the 2/1 mark, so the isn’t much value to be had by backing him right now.
The only other rider that it is true to say has been receiving quite a bit of support from avid sports bettors and fans of the sport alike is Thomas, and if you do rate his chances of success this year then you should be backing him this morning whilst his outright winner odds are still 5/2.
But, being the Tour De France it is fair and true to say that anything could happen as the stages are being run, and as such do consider placing a bet on any other rider if you do think that have any sort of chance of winning this year as those other riders do have some high odds attached to them right now.
Each-Way Betting Value
The odds on both the first and second favourite to win the Tour De France in 2019 are not what you could call overly generous, however do keep in mind that those odds are going to be subject to change as each stage of the race is staged.
However for those of you that are prepared to back any of the other riders then you may fancy backing them each-way and not to win the Tour De France outright, by placing your each-way bets at BetFred they will pay you out to three places this year and at one quarter the win odds too.
Who to Back Each-Way?
There is some value waiting to get mopped up if you are prepared to back any other rider each-way and there are several of them that could quite easily fill one of the top three positions in the Tour De France this year.
The first rider that does spring to mind is Fuglsang and his odds are around the 5/1 mark currently, and the odds then start to jump into double digits on the remainder of the field and another rider that I do know some punters have been backing is Yates at 12/1.
Then you have the likes of Porte and Quintana both trading at 16/1 along with Pinot at 18/1 and for those of you that are seeking out some much higher potential winning pay-outs you should consider placing a few small each-way bets on rider such as Bardet and Kruijswijk and by doing so right now you are going to be rewarded with odds of at least 20/1, so keep them in mind.
