If you have had one eye on the Challenge Cup results so far in this year, then you will probably be of the mind that it will be St Helens that are going to come out and win that tournament outright this year, and most punters have been backing them to do so.
In fact, the odds that you are now going to find being offered on St Helens are 5/6 and whilst not huge they do give you an insight into the chance of St Helens lifting and taking home with them the Challenge Cup this year.
However, they are by no stretch of the imagination guaranteed to win, for if there is one team that are not going to go down without a fight in that competition it is Warrington, and there is still a little bit of value to be had by backing them to win.
Over at one of our featured and top betting site, that being Betfred, you will find that Warrington can be backed at odds of 2/1, but do place your bets quickly if you do think they will win as those odds may not be around for very much longer!
Hull FC the Only Other Possible Winner
Putting your betting head on, and when checking out the form of each team you will probably come to the same conclusion as most bookies’ odds compilers, that being there could only possibly be one other winner of the Challenge Cup.
That team is of course Hull FC, and if they can slightly improve on their current fairly decent form then there is a good chance that they could win, and currently they are the 4/1 third favourite to do so too.
Bradford and Halifax the Rank Outsiders
The two teams that are unlikely to win the Challenge Cup this year are Bradford and Halifax, and looking at the odds currently being offered on both teams, well its very fair and true to say that only the most loyal fans will be prepared to back them at their current huge odds.
The odds that are generally being offered on both of those teams by the leading bookmakers are 80/1 on Bradford winning the Challenge Cup and 100/1 on Halifax winning, so bookies are confident neither of them will be winning this year, hence them offering such large odds.
If you are a fan of either side and want to back them with your heart rather than your head, what I would encourage you to do is to head over to the Betfair betting exchange, for there is no doubt in my mind you are going to be offered much higher odds on both teams, and as such will get much better value when betting on that betting exchange when compared to betting with a bookmaker.
