The very first race that is part of the Cheltenham Festival race meeting will be starting this coming Tuesday at 13:00, however over the weekend plenty of race goers are going to start descending on the towns and villages surrounding the racecourse and will be checking into their chosen hotels or B and B accommodation for the week.
Thousands of people make the annual pilgrimage over from Ireland for that race meeting and it is without a shadow of a doubt THE jump race meeting of the year in terms of the volume of wagers placed on each race.
This year the meeting is running from Tuesday through to and including Friday, and there has already been a fortune placed on the ante post betting markets for each race of the four day meeting.
A few changes have been made to the Cheltenham racecourse for safety reasons and as such it is hoped that the number of horses that may come a cropper at the fences will be reduced.
It is worth noting that due to the volume of ante post bets placed one some of race there are already some very short priced favourites at the Cheltenham Festival this year, but as to whether any of them are going to win, that does of course remain to be seen!
Look Out for Special Cheltenham Festival Offers
Never be in too much of a rush to get a bet placed on any horses you fancy that are going to be lining up and taking their chances in any of the races being staged at the Cheltenham Festival, for you should always be prepared to shop around to secure the best odds available.
It is also worth me pointing out that a large number of the featured sportsbooks, bookies and betting sites showcased throughout this website are all going to be running their own unique promotional offers for the duration of the Festival, and as such do make a point of checking those sites out.
Horses that are Being Backed Ante Post
As for just which horses are being backed, well in the very first race that will be kicking off the Cheltenham Festival this year that being the 2019 SkyBet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle one horse that has seen a fair bit of support is Al Dancer and that horse has been backed down to odds of 3/1.
In the Coral Cup that is being run on the 13th of March at 14:50 the rock solid favourite is Uradel but there is certainly plenty of value left to be bagged if you do fancy the chances of that early favourite for it is still available at numerous betting sites at odds of around the 6/1 mark!
If you have your eye on the Triumph Hurdle which is going to be run at 13:00 on the 15th of March then it is Sir Erec that has been attracting a large amount of support on the ante post betting market, so much so its odds are now just 6/5.
