You will have seen yesterday I did take a look at the betting markets available on the upcoming Grand Prix of Darts Tournament that will be starting very soon, however what I am going to be looking at today are some of the best odds available in the individual first round matches.
Each player does of course need to make it through each round, if they are to have any chance of making it to the final, and BetFred have now just made live their ante post odds on each of those matches, and as you would expect there is plenty of value waiting to get mopped up over on their betting site!
One match that did catch my eye that is being played on the 30th of September 2018 at 19:05 is the Jeffrey De Zwaan v Kim Huybrechts match, and if you want to follow the smart money then I think you should be backing Jeffrey De Zwaan at 8/13 to win that match as win it he should surely do, his opponents odds if you are interested at BetFred are 5/4.
The 20:50 match starting on the same day between Ricky Evans and Raymond Van Barneveld sees Evans as the underdog at 2/1, but most punters are backing Raymond Van Barneveld and whilst his odds are low at 2/5 he does have an outstanding chance of winning that match!
Dave Chisnall Should Win Against Max Hopp
One match that I will be very eager to watch on the 30TH of September is the match between Dave Chisnall and Max Hopp, for I do feel the former named player has an excellent chance of making it through many rounds of this major darts tournament and is in with a chance of making it to the final games too.
That match is going to be starting, all being well, at 21:25 and if like me you think that Dave Chisnall is going to win you can bag odds of 1/2 of him doing so right now at BetFred and for those of you of the mind that it will be Max Hopp that will win his odds of doing so are 13/8!
Matches Scheduled for the 1st of October
There are of course plenty of darts matches that are part of the World Grand Prix tournament that are scheduled to start on the 1st of October, and with that in mind let me now give you some ideas of which players are most likely to win their respective matches.
The very first match of the evening that day is starting at 19:05 and will see Jermaine Wattimena taking his chances against Mervyn King.
That match however is a fairly well balanced on regarding not only the current form of both players but their respective win odds and I give a slight preference for Mervyn King whose odds are currently even money, and I think he could just win that match despite his opponent being the 4/5 favourite to do so!
If you are prepared to bet on the 20:15 match in which Danny Noppert is up against Gerwyn Price then you will certainly be getting plenty of value at BetFred as they are offering win odds of 11/8 on Noppert to win and odds of 4/7 on Price winning that match, and I do feel that it should be a fairly easy match for Price to win by the way!
